Your Legacy Gift WILL Change a Life

Celebrate YOUR Life by Transforming Another’s

Red Labrador Assistance Dog

Leaving a gift in your Will to Irish Dogs for the Disabled will have a profound and lasting impact.

It will ensure that the charity has the resources to ethically breed and train dogs to assist with practical, everyday tasks to help children or adults with a physical disability live life to the full, breaking down barriers to the outside world and helping to improve confidence and become active members of society.

Each Assistance Dog is specifically trained to help his or her new partner but is also reliant on them to provide for their needs including exercise, feeding, love and care. These new responsibilities encourage their partner to become more active and outgoing in the community.

Our partnerships - and indeed their entire families - have told us that they found the experience of having an Assistance dog life-changing.

By including a gift in your will, you're helping to create a future where every child or adult who needs a disability assistance dog can receive one, without having to wait years.

Leaving a legacy gift WILL help us make life more manageable for a child or adult living with a physical disability

Whether it’s a specific sum of money, a percentage amount, a specific item or a codicil in your will, whatever the amount you choose to leave is up to you.

You could:

  • Sponsor the gift of one fully trained mobility assistance dog for a child (between the ages of 6-10yrs) with cerebral palsy or ataxia-type conditions

  • Sponsor the gift of a Parkinson’s Assistance dog for an adult with early-onset Parkinsons Disease

  • Sponsor a memorial garden or seat on our 11 acres

  • Sponsor one of our therapeutic rooms

  • Plant a tree as part of our bio-diversity programme

Please be assured that every legacy counts, no matter how large or small and you don’t need to be wealthy to give a gift to help us provide a child or adult living with a physical disability with one of our life-changing assistance dogs.

Did you know?

  • You can make a substantial contribution that costs nothing during your lifetime. A legacy left to a charity is also exempt from tax.

  • By leaving a legacy gift to Dogs for the Disabled you are reducing the overall tax bill on your estate and getting more value from your gift.

Some people leave their entire estates, or a property, but most leave a modest sum. Once you have made provisions for your loved ones, you might choose to leave the remainder, or part of the remainder of your estate to one or more of your preferred charities……

We hope you will consider Dogs for the Disabled and our very special beneficiaries.
