Our Supporters

Dogs for the Disabled are honoured to work with our amazing supporters. With their generosity, we can continue to provide highly trained, life changing Assistance Dogs to adults and children with physical disabilities to create a world with fewer limits.

From Corporate Benefactors to our teams of volunteers nationwide who selflessly offer their time, effort and love raising our puppies, to volunteers holding local fundraisers all year round.

Each of our highly trained dogs costs €15k each to ethically breed, raise, train and care for over their entire lifetime and are gifted to their partners at NO COST, thanks to the generosity of our wonderful donors.

Thank You!

We are very proud to have Ireland captain and Munster Rugby player Peter O’Mahony as our Patron.

“I’ve always had a passion for dogs and I’m delighted to now be involved with such a hardworking group of people and see the difference their dogs make in people’s lives”

The Ireland Funds

We are extremely grateful to the Ireland Funds who have given us key support since 2011 when the charity was at a crisis point in terms of funding.

With chapters in 12 countries, The Ireland Funds has raised over $600 million for deserving causes in Ireland and beyond, benefiting more than 3,200 different organisations.

Without their guidance and support, we would not be in the strong position we are in today!

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a grant by the RTE Toy Show Appeal. This grant will fund more assistance dog partnerships and help to change the lives of children living with physical disabilities throughout Ireland.

Rethink Ireland Social Innovation Fund

Receiving 2025 grant funding from Rethink Ireland and the Resilience Fund Cork has given us the space to breathe financially this year,  allowing us to focus on what matters the most - the children we strive to help though the placement of our amazing mobility assistance dogs to children between the ages of 6-12 years with severe balance impairment due to their profound physical disability like Cerebral Palsy and ataxia-type conditions. Our specially trained assistance dogs get children up and walking by aiding with their balance and assisting with negotiating obstacles.

Maintaining the child’s walking mobility throughout important growing phases increased independence and fosters social inclusion. This provides the children and their families with hope, a sense of achievement and a plan for their future

Dogs for the Disabled’s specially trained Mobility Assistance dogs help children around Ireland living with Cerebral Palsy and ataxia-type conditions to live more independently

Irish Hospital Supplies

We are very proud to announce a future-transforming partnership made possible by the generosity of the Farrell family and Irish Hospital Supplies, in loving memory of company founder Vincent Farrell, who passed away in 2022.

In a touching tribute, Vincent’s widow Muriel, his daughters Niamh and Michelle, and newly appointed CEO Liam Regan joined the charity to meet a special new recruit — a Golden Retriever puppy named “Vincent”.

This puppy-in-training, FULLY sponsored by Irish Hospital Supplies, is destined to become a life-changing Assistance Dog for a physically disabled child or adult in two years time.
