Well-being & Welfare Policy
Dogs for the Disabled is committed to ensuring the well-being and welfare of all employees and volunteers.
Employees are encouraged to report any stress, anxiety or mental health concerns. Dogs for the Disabled actively encourage the staff to team-working. Weekly meetings are in place and all staff are encouraged to attend. However, Dogs for the Disabled are aware that lone working may be necessary for an employee.
Dogs for the Disabled recognises that lone working may affect mental well-being and ensures that employees are supported mentally and emotionally. Dogs for the Disabled will:
Maintain regular contact with lone workers
Monitor workload and act promptly on any concerns raised
Encourage open conversations about well-being
Dogs for the Disabled is committed to :-
Creating a safe, inclusive environment that promotes physical and mental well-being
Zero tolerance of abuse or neglect
Acting in the best interest of children and vulnerable adults
Working in partnerships with families and carers
Every staff member has the right to work in a safe and supportive environment. We monitor workloads to prevent stress and burnout and encourage staff to seek support early and discuss any concerns with their line manager.
Volunteers are a vital part of Dogs for the Disabled and it is our responsibility to provide a supportive and respectful environment and relationship with our volunteers. Dogs for the Disabled ensure that volunteers have the support they require.
